This website is dedicated to medical students who are interested in doing Plastic Surgery in the future as a speciality.
In 2008, there were 23 applicants per post for Plastic Surgery Higher Surgery Training (ST3) post. (1) With such high rates of competition, the need for a specialised career guide dedicated to Plastic Surgery is in high demand. Thus, the sole aim of this guide is to provide the appropriate information to enhance an application for a Plastic Surgery training post. This is a one-stop guide for Plastic Surgery, which will hopefully cover your career development enquiries from undergraduate training to surgical training.
Although this website is available for all, it will be aimed at medical students who are in their last years of medical school i.e. Year 4, 5 & 6, in the United Kingdom. For this reason, all the details written will be based from the perspective of a medical student in the United Kingdom.
Use the main menu bar above to navigate yourself around the site. There is a comment box in most of the pages. Please feel free to add any comments or any corrections.
